Role Description:
SEEKING EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST TO JOIN THE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE (Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) of Western Australia – Carine Group)
Riding for the Disabled (RDA) was founded in the UK in 1969 and is a worldwide movement which provides horse riding programs for people with disabilities. The Princess Royal, HRH Princess Anne is our Patron.
Operating for over 40 years, RDA Carine in Western Australia is an incorporated association whose main purpose is to provide mounted and unmounted horse programs for children and adults living with disability and mental health conditions. Our mission aims to enable people with varying degrees of ability to experience enjoyment, challenge and a sense of achievement through participation in equestrian activities to improve their quality of life, attain personal goals and develop life skills.
RDA Carine is a not for profit organisation, holds a Charitable Collections License and is a Public Benevolent Institution. The organisation is managed exclusively by a Management Committee consisting of up to 10 members. The Committee is the legal authority for RDA Carine. Being predominantly volunteer based, the staffing structure aligns daily operations with the National Standards for Volunteer Involvement 2024.
We are seeking experienced and values driven Committee Members to lead our diverse team in all areas of the organisation’s governance to ensure optimal use of organisational resources and to deliver strategic objectives. Previous experience on a not for profit committee would be highly valued along with any expertise in the following fields; HR, Governance, Law, Disability/Mental Health, Fundraising or Marketing.
In the last few years, RDA Carine has experienced a transitional period formally accepting and adopting a new governance and structure operating under the auspices of the Constitution dated August 2024 and in accordance to the Association Incorporation Act of 2015. RDA Carine is an Unregistered NDIS Provider complying with all relevant rules and regulations, including the NDIS Code of Conduct, Riding for the Disabled Australia (RDAA) regulations, Sport Integrity Australia National Integrity Framework Policies and RDA Carine Policies and Procedures. Participants who’s NDIS Plans are Self-managed and Plan-managed may be able to use their funds to access our Program.
