Community Arts Network (CAN) is seeking experienced, values‑driven individuals to join its Board of Directors on a voluntary basis.
With over 40 years of impact in community arts and cultural development, CAN works at the intersection of creativity, culture and community wellbeing. As a Board Director, you will play a key role in guiding strategy, strengthening governance, and supporting the long‑term sustainability and impact of the organisation.
Skills & Experience We’re Seeking
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Legal – governance, compliance and risk
- Finance – including experience suitable for a Treasurer role
- Creative sector leadership – community arts experience highly desirable; broader creative sector experience welcomed.
About the Role
As a Board Director, you will:
- Provide strategic direction and organisational oversight
- Ensure strong governance, financial stewardship and accountability
- Support and appropriately challenge the CEO
- Act as an ambassador for CAN, supporting relationships and partnerships
This is a non‑executive, governance‑focused role and does not involve day‑to‑day operations.
